Finally, words that sound like you

Because the right words don't just describe what you do. They help the right people find you.

Words that sound like you

Not a polished, professional version of you. Not a slightly-more-impressive version of you. You.

The person who got into this work for real reasons, who cares deeply about the people she works with, who has things to say that are worth saying. That person deserves words that do her justice.

I write website copy, articles, newsletters and blogs for service-based businesses for people who are warm and knowledgeable in conversation and who want that same quality to come through on the page. Not because they can't write. Because writing about yourself is genuinely hard, and most people haven't had someone in their corner helping them figure out what's actually worth saying.

That's where I come in.

I listen first. Then I write.

Before I touch a word of your copy, I want to understand you. How do you talk about your work when you're just being yourself, or chatting to a friend? Where you've been playing it safe, or underselling what you actually do.

Then I write the real version, the version that is in your head but you struggled to get out onto paper.

Once I am done, most of my clients read their copy back and say some version of the same thing. It's like you crawled into my brain. A compliment? I'll take it. And that's what happens when someone takes the time to really listen before they write.

It isn't just about the words

Most copywriters start with your words. I start with you.

The blank page is daunting (believe me, I know). And talking about yourself freely? That can feel arrogant, or salesy, or just plain hard. You know your business. You know what you do and why you do it. But getting that out of your head and onto a page in a way that sounds like you and not like everyone else can feel close to impossible.

That's exactly the problem I love to solve.

What I can help with

Website Copy

The pages people read before they decide to get in touch. Written to sound like you or refined from what you've already got, if that's more what you need.

Newsletters & Reports

Your voice, your perspective, in their inbox. Whether you want me to write it, shape it, or simply make sure what you've written sounds the way you meant it to.

Articles & Blogs

Long-form writing that builds trust over time. The kind of content that makes the right person think, she gets it, before they've even met you.

In your corner

Or if you want someone in your corner on a more flexible basis - to read things, refine things, think things through, that's something I offer too.

Individual articles and blog posts start from $250. Website copy from $800. But every project, and every client, is different, which is why a brief chat to get clear on your needs is always the first step.

I spent months trying (and failing) to do my website and copy myself. I simply handed it over to Leanne - she absolutely nailed it, and we were online within days.

Sarah,  JuBE Art

Leanne has a knack for getting to the heart of what is going on. She helped me complete a project I'd been dreaming about for years and had always talked myself out of.

Sue, The Light Sparkler

Leanne has treated my business as her own, nurturing a wonderfully trusting connection. She has enhanced my business in so many ways.

Natalie, Earth Song Alchemy

I take on a small number of projects at a time - so when we work together, you get all of me.
